LG Polls: Senator Lere Oyewumi Leads PDP Campaign Train To Canvass Votes For Party’s Candidates In Irewole Local Government
The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, flanked by Yeye Akogun Omolara Oyewumi, led party members, leaders, and other political functionaries to Ward 09 in Irewole Local Government to canvass votes for the party's candidates in the February 22, 2025, local council elections. The event witnessed a massive turnout of party supporters, traditional rulers, community leaders, and various youth and women’s groups, who pledged their support to the party, its chairmanship candidate, Hon. Jide Jooda; the deputy chairmanship candidate, Hon. Tirimisiyu Adepoju; and the PDP councillorship candidates.
Senator Lere Oyewumi called on the residents to vote massively for the Peoples Democratic Party candidates in the local government elections, emphasizing the critical role of local government administration in Nigeria’s democracy, noting that it is a panacea for development. He implored them to propagate the message of hope, good governance, and rapid socio-economic growth to the people. He outlined the key accomplishments of the Governor Adeleke administration, highlighting simultaneous progress in infrastructure development across Osun State, enhanced security, improved healthcare, educational improvements, and overall service delivery enhancements.
Senator Oyewumi reiterated that the PDP is committed to transforming lives and improving the living conditions of the masses. He appealed for continued support ahead of the local government elections to foster development in the council area. The lawmaker equally assured the residents that he would continue his purposeful representation in the Senate while implementing mass-oriented projects, improving social amenities, and making life more abundant, meaningful, and worthwhile for the rural and urban dwellers in the Osun West Senatorial District.
The chairmanship candidate, Hon.
