Senator Lere Oyewumi Empowers Osun West Constituents with SUVs, Tricycles, Deep Freezers, Sewing Machines, Grinding Machines, and More

In a remarkable display of gratitude and dedication to development, Senator Lere Oyewumi, PhD, the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, on Sunday distributed a wide range of empowerment items to constituents in the Osun West Senatorial District. The event, marked by celebration and appreciation, was graced by prominent figures, including the Deputy Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Prince Kola Adewusi; Osun State University (UNIOSUN) Governing Board Chairman and former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Professor Abiodun Wale Oladipo; and Osun PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi.




The empowerment program aimed to stimulate economic growth and enhance the quality of life for beneficiaries. Items distributed included sports utility vehicles (SUVs), tricycles, motorcycles, deep freezers, sewing machines, generating sets, barbing kits, and grinding machines. The beneficiaries, comprising young entrepreneurs, artisans, and women, expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing the initiative as transformative.


Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi commended Senator Oyewumi for his impactful contributions, describing him as an "uncommon senator" who has brought relief to his constituents during a challenging economic period. "Through various projects and these empowerment items, the Senator has shown exceptional commitment to improving lives," he said.



Senator Oyewumi emphasized the program's significance, stating, “This empowerment program is a way to give back to my people and thank them for their unwavering support for me and Governor Ademola Adeleke. These items will help enhance economic activities, improve livelihoods, and uplift the overall well-being of the people.”


Professor Wale Oladipo praised the initiative, calling it commendable and a model for political officeholders. “We have never seen senators in the past embarking on a program like this. What Senator Oyewumi is doing today challenges those aspiring for political offices to prioritize impactful initiatives,” he remarked.


Osun PDP Chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi also highlighted the program's alignment with the party's campaign promises. He stated, “This empowerment is part of Senator Oyewumi's determination to improve the standard of living of his constituents, reduce crime, and tackle unemployment in the senatorial district and beyond.”
