Senator Lere Oyewumi, Ph.D Inaugurated As Member, Board Of Governors For Peoples Democratic Institute
The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Akogun Lere Oyewumi today inaugurated As Member, Board Of Governors and the unveiling of the road map for the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDI) by the Director-General, Dr. Edward Adie, a university lecturer from the University of Calabar, versatile researcher and expert in Nigeria Democracy, Political Communication and Development Discourse with over thirty-five research works published in both international and local platforms.
The Peoples Democratic Institute is the organ of the PDP concerned with training, capacity-building, research and the development of democracy and leadership in good governance. The PDI was established in the year 2000 by the founding fathers of the great party. The mission of the institute is to serve as a centre of excellence. It is also expected to serve as a think tank for the PDP and to promote democracy in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.
Senator Lere Oyewumi appreciated the Osun state Governor, Sen. Ademola Adeleke for his sterling leadership in the state. He equally Implore the party stakeholders, public officials and policymakers to support and take advantage of the research data from the Peoples Democratic Institute for effective management of resources at their various levels of engagements.
