Says The Atolugbu of Oke-Oba Lived An Exemplary Life


The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Sen Lere Oyewumi has expressed shock, disbelief and sadness over the sudden death of my leader, father, and a PDP chieftain, Oba Yunus Olaoye Oyelayo Atolugbu of Oke-Oba. He condoled with the people of Aiyedire Local Government, Osun West Senatorial District,  government and people of Osun State over the death of Oba Yunus Olaoye Oyelayo.


Sen. Oyewumi noted that Oba Yunus Olaoye Oyelayo was very brilliant, towering and magnificent in all spheres, yet lived an exceptionally humble, pleasant, sociable, gracious, compassionate and loving life. He touched lives in many positive ways and made pivotal contributions towards the growth and development of our State and Nation.


“He was a dedicated teacher, politician, author, and fearless mobilizer who always stood for the truth; fought for justice, equity, and fairness and gave his energy, passion, and resources in the pursuit of the rights of all. As we mourn our dear Leader, Father, husband, son, and most importantly, champion in our fight, we celebrate the tremendous impact that he had on all of us throughout his life.


Sen. Oyewumi expressed his sympathy to the family of the late King, the people of Ayedire local government and Osun West urging them to take solace in the fact that Oba Oyelayo lived a fulfilled and accomplished life that the legacy he has created will serve as a guiding light for the future.


"I pray that the Almighty God grants the bereaved family, Party, and people of Aiyedire Local Government, Osun West the strength to bear this unfortunate loss. As we mourn the passing of His Royal Highness, we celebrate the fact that he lived a full and exemplary life that was dedicated to serving people", the lawmaker concluded.
