Senator Lere Oyewumi Commiserates With Oluwo, Chief Imam Of Osogbo Over the Passing Of Chief Imam of Iwo Land, Sheikh Abdul Fatai Obelawo

The Mayegun Adeen Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency, Senator Lere Oyewumi PhD has described the death of the Chief Imam of Iwo Land, Fadeelat Sheikh Abdulfatai Obelawo Olododo, as a great loss to the Muslim community, the state and the country in general.


Sen Oyewumi commiserates with the Oluwo of Iwoland, HRM Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, Chiefs in Council, Chief Imam of Osogbo also Grand Imam and Alfa in the State Sheikh Musa Animasaun, League of Imams and Alfas in Osun State, his immediate family, associates and the people of Iwo over his passing, prayed to Allah to repose the soul of the late Fadeelat Sheikh Abdulfatai Obelawo Olododo.  Sen Oyewumi said the late cleric would be sorely missed and remembered for his bold and courageous sermons which stood him out in present-day Nigeria.


Describing the deceased Sheikh Olododo as a great cleric, who worked hard with others to foster the religious harmony being enjoyed in the state. Sen. Oyewumi said his death has left a huge vacuum among Muslims in the state. “He was indeed a respected cleric who was always mindful of his integrity and used his sermons to engineer positive changes in the behaviour and character of his followers,” Sen Oyewumi said.


“He was a devout Muslim; humanist and bridge builder and would be remembered for his fairness, boldness, and thought-provoking sermons.” Sen Oyewumi, while commiserating with the family of the late cleric, urged them to take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life and contributed immensely to the peaceful coexistence in the State until his demise. He prays that Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus and give the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
