The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Sen. Oyewumi extended greetings to the good people of the Osun West Senatorial, Osun state, and Nigeria on the occasion of Good Friday. It is a day of adoration, absolution and victory for good over evil. As the gospel says 'While we were still sinners Christ died for us all, He died on the Cross so that humankind can live in peace and harmony.
Sen. Oyewumi urged to renew one's determination to follow Jesus examples of peace, love and forgiveness. Jesus Christ revealed his pure love for all mankind with selfless sacrifice and his resurrection demonstrates victory of love over hate," Our Nation has experienced a much-needed rebirth during the Lenten season. Therefore, on this solemn occasion, let us rededicate ourselves to the noble ideals of love, peace and forgiveness; and strengthen the bonds of friendship, brotherhood and unity amongst the diverse peoples of our Nation.
The lawmaker urged the people to emulate Jesus Christ by making sacrifices that would advance the course of development of the state. He stressed that Easter exemplifies the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus Christ to save mankind, noting that as individuals, Christians must take into consideration the welfare of others.
The Senator called on the people of Osun West Senatorial, Osun State to re-dedicate themselves to the service of the state, as they reflect on the ideals of Good Friday and Easter Celebration. He gave assurance that he would continue to work with His Excellency Sen. Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke to make sacrifices for the state, defend its interests and ensure that the people always enjoy good governance.
He, therefore, urged the privileged to reach out to the less privileged, saying everyone works to deepen the culture of true Christianity. May the Good Friday and Easter bring peace and happiness to all.
