Ikire Progressive Union (IPU) Honors Akogun Lere Oyewumi, Hon Adeyemo Festus Ademola, and Hon Abiola Ibrahim Inaolaji With Grand Civic Reception

Ikire Progressive Union (IPU) on Sunday, organized a Grand Civic Reception in honor of her illustrious sons who are top-ranking politicians in government, Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator (Akogun) Lere Oyewumi, Commissioner for Energy, Hon Adeyemo Festus Ademola, Honourable Member Osun State House of Assembly, Hon Abiola Ibrahim Inaolaji, and Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji C.E.O/MD NIWA in recognition of their laudable contributions and selfless service to the town, State and Nation. The event, held at the Ikire Town Hall, showcased a rare bipartisan gathering of dignitaries and was attended by prominent figures from across the various political divides in the state.


Speaking at the ceremony Co-Celebrants, Former Commissioner For Finance, and the newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji described Senator (Akogun) Lere Oyewumi as a good man who deserves encomium and celebration from the people of Ikire and, Osun West, and Osun State, said the legislator has distinguished himself and identified the purpose for which he was elected. 


In addition to his notable contribution to improving the security and welfare of his people. He urged the people of Ikire to cherish the rare opportunity, highlighting the exceptional leadership qualities possessed by Sen. Lere Oyewumi. Alhaji Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji emphasized that Sen. Lere Oyewumi's achievements cannot be encapsulated in mere words, but rather, his actions have started speaking volumes for the progress and development of Ikire and Osun West Senatorial District.


In his remarks, the celebrant, Senator Lere Oyewumi said he was deeply humbled by the civic reception and acknowledged the Ikire Progressive Union (IPU) commitment to the advancement of Ikire and emphasized the deliberate efforts of the present administration in restoring vital infrastructure. 


"I am proud to assert that my leadership philosophy revolves around the idea that we can only impact well when we partner, irrespective of political affiliations and I want to declare to my people that the Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Inland Waterways Authority Mr. Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji is my partner in the development of the town, State and Nation". If you do have your investment sited somewhere else, this is the time to bring them down to home (Ikire). Ikire is open for business, foreign investors are welcome. "Gone are the days when leaders would take a flight to relocate abroad and tell you they are looking for foreign investments. My message to all of us is that we must fix our home and when we fix our home, other people will come and invest", Sen. Oyewumi insisted


The ceremony was enriched by eloquent speeches from other personalities, and various governmental officials, underscoring the significance of Sen Oyewumi's contributions to the community. The event concluded with vibrant cultural displays, showcasing the rich heritage of Ikire, alongside presentations and traditional performances in honor of Sen. Oyewumi's enduring commitment to service and progress.
