The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi, has congratulated the Ogiyan of Ejigbo HRM Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin II, on the 50th anniversary of his ascension to the throne. He described Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin II, as a bridge builder and a committed figure to the unity of the State and Nigerian federation.
Sen. Oyewumi noted that the Ogiyan of Ejigbo HRM Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin II is a highly detribalized Nigerian who has used his position to assist governments at various levels to ensure stability in the polity especially when the corporate existence of the country was threatened. He pointed out that Ejigbo Town has witnessed tremendous socio-economic development under the Ogiyan of Ejigbo and has assumed pre-eminent importance in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
Sen. Oyewumi also praised Oba Omowonuola for bringing his diplomatic skills to bear on his royal duties noting that Ejigbo has become a melting pot for Nigerians and other Africans of various descents. The Senator further described Oba Omowonuola as a selfless servant of the people of Ejigbo and a compassionate philanthropist who is ever ready to assist the less privileged.
Senator Oyewumi prayed to God to grant Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyeyosin II more fruitful years on the throne and more selfless service to humanity.
