Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has named the Senator representing Osun West senatorial district and the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Akogun Lere Oyewumi the Best Senator of the Year following his contributions to the freedom of information in the state.
Senator Lere Oyewumi's recognition of digital media in Osun State has been substantial and diverse. Through various digital platforms, he has effectively engaged with his constituents, actively sought feedback, and disseminated crucial information about legislative activities, policies, and initiatives designed to improve the well-being of the people of Osun.
He emerged best senator of the Year having scored the highest votes in an online voting conducted among selected senators in the state.
Announcing his emergence as Digital Senator of the Year on Wednesday at the Ben-Bar Hall Osogbo during the 2023 OOPA award night by the president of the association, Mr. Jare Tiamiyu said Osun West Senator has emerged as best senator of the year for his contribution towards the digital media industry.
Upon receiving the award, Senator Lere Oyewumi who was represented by Osun PDP director of Research, Hon. Popoola Timilehin expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the honor bestowed upon him. He then dedicated the award to the residents of Osun West Senatorial District, acknowledging their unwavering trust, support, and encouragement for him.
