It was an agog Ikire Day celebration as the astute politician, season administrator, Omo Apesin Of Ikireland, Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Akogun Lere Oyewumi led hundreds of friends, associates, and Peoples Democratic Party members to bombard Ayedaade High School Ikire to celebrate Ikire Day. Inside capacity-filled event tents, were Ikire indigenes, Social Clubs, Artisans, and members of the Peoples Democratic Party loyal to Akogun Lere Oyewumi in colorful attires to pledge their loyalty, support, and celebrate with Omo Apesin of the source.
Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District, Akogun Lere Oyewumi was accompanied by the Chief launcher of the day, Hon. Ishaku Emma, MHR Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency, Hon. Lanre Oladebo. Sen. Lere Oyewumi commended the gathering of kinsmen to celebrate Ikire Day, describing it as chords of unity and culture that foster peaceful coexistence. The lawmaker expressed his profound gratitude to the people of Ikire for their support, love, and prayers for him and his administration ever since he assumed office.
The Chief launcher, Hon. Ishaku expressed gratitude to the Akire Of Ikireland, the Chiefs, Sons, and Daughters of Ikire, for the invitation extended to him to participate in the festival, stressing that, the honor will strengthen the bond of love and unity between him and the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate. While donating a sum of 5 million naira. Hon. Ishaku Emma expressed his deep gratitude for the visit. He appreciated and commended Senator Lere Oyewumi's leadership traits and magnanimity which are very rare in a politician.
The Member, House Of Representative, Irewole/Isokan/Ayedaade Federal Constituency, Hon. Lanre Oladebo also congratulated and celebrated with Akogun Lere Oyewumi, Akire Of Ikireland, son and daughters of the town on the occasion of Ikire Day. While speaking at the event, he appreciated the Kabiyesi for his tremendous contributions to the growth and development of Ikire and donated a sum of 3 million naira for the development of the town.
Senator Lere Oyewumi appreciated the magnanimity and kind-hearted gesture of Hon. Ishaku, Hon. Lanre Oladebo, and other donors towards the development of Ikireland. Sen. Oyewumi equally announced the donation from the Senate President, H.E Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau, Sen. Solomon Adeola Yayi, and Sen. Sanni, amongst others. He equally appealed to everyone to donate generously to the development fund to complete the Events Centre Complex. Akogun Lere urged the Apex committee to wisely use the donations for the development of Ikire.
