It was jubilation galore as Senator Lere Oyewumi in the discharge of another social responsibility, donated two 500KVA transformers to Sunmoye and Ako communities in Irewole Local Government of Osun West Senatorial district. The Senator’s gesture was in response to the communities’ worries over poor power supply resulting from faulty or transformers. It's not a gainsaying that the communities have been in darkness for years due to absence of functional transformers.
Speaking through his media unit, the lawmaker said: “There is nothing as beautiful as seeing the happiness and joy on the faces of my constituents. Some months ago, I was informed by the landlords and tenants of Sunmoye and Ako communities that they had dire need for transformers. According to them, they had written several times to relevant authorities but to no avail and I’d promised to look into it and figure out a solution. So, two brand new 500KVA transformers were delivered and handed over to the residents of Sunmoye and Ako area, respectively".
Senator Lere Oyewumi pledged to continue to deliver on his campaign promises by prioritizing the welfare of his constituents. He tasked the residents to take responsibility for the transformers, to safeguard the transformers jealously in their interest and for the overall development of their respective areas. He also promised other communities in need of transformers that their requests would be fulfilled in due course.
