The Senator-Elect, Osun West Senatorial District, Akogun Lere Oyewumi has congratulated and charged the newly inaugurated 8th Assembly to prioritize the interests of the people of the State in the discharge of their duties. He urged the lawmakers to see their assignments as a service to the people of the state who elected them as representatives. He noted that legislation is a crucial assignment and one of the most important instruments of government in organizing, developing, stabilizing society, and protecting citizens.
Akogun Lere Oyewumi also congratulate the elected speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun. He enjoined the new legislators to be above board and discharge their duties without fear, favor, or interference. He also commended the assembly members for electing their principal officers without rancor or misunderstanding. Akogun Lere Oyewumi observed that democracy could only be meaningful when lawmakers embark on legislation and policies that would enhance the well-being of the masses and make life more abundant, meaningful, and abundant.
